Reboot Your Device

If you see Google Play services have stopped error on your screen, then the first thing that you should do is reboot your Android mobile. Our smartphones run many apps and processes behind our back in the background, and these apps and processes sometimes create/ cause technical glitches that can make Google Play Store unresponsive. But restarting our smartphone can solve this problem. So, try restarting your smartphone before trying anything else to make Google Play Store work again.

Update Your Google Play Store App

Like every other app, you must update your Google Play Store app to avoid bugs and performance issues. Usually, the app is updated automatically in the background when a new update is available. But sometimes, the app might not be able to update itself automatically due to which the app may stop working. However, you can update your app manually too. To update your app manually:

  1. Open the app (Google Play Store) app.

  2. Now tap or click on the hamburger icon.

  3. Next, tap on the “Settings” option.

  4. Now scroll down a little and tap/click on the “Play Store Version” option to download and install the latest updates on the Google Play Store app.

  5. You have successfully updated your Google Play Store app manually.

Clear the Google Play Services Data & Cache

Google Play services store data and cache files on your mobile to serve you faster. However, these files and data can also make your Google Play services app unresponsive. So, if your Google Play services app is not working, try deleting the app’s data and cache files to solve this problem. To do this:

  1. Head towards the “Settings” app and open it.

  2. Now tap/click on the “Apps and notifications” option.

  3. Locate the app (Google Play Services) app and tap on the “Storage and cache” option.

  4. Finally, hit the “Clear Storage” and “Clear Cache” button to clear data and cache files of the Google Play services app.

Uninstall Updates

Updates are rolled to fix the security and performance issues of the apps. However, sometimes these updates might cause a problem instead of improving the app. Similarly, your Google Play services app might stop working due to a recently installed update. But you can solve this problem by uninstalling that update. To do this:

  1. Head towards the “Settings” app and open it.

  2. Now tap/click on the “Apps and notifications” option.

  3. Locate the app (Google Play Services) app and tap on the three dots icon.

  4. Now click on the “Uninstall updates” option.

  5. You have successfully uninstalled the recently installed updates on the Google Play services app.

Enable Airplane Mode

If the Google Play Store app has become completely white with no menus or options, then this might be due to your data connection. However, you can easily fix this issue by enabling “Airplane mode” temporarily. This will refresh your data connection and stop the app from fetching new data from the server, which would ultimately fix your white screen problem on the Google Play Store app. To do this:

  1. Drag down the notification bar.

  2. Next, enable “Airplane mode” by clicking on the” Airplane mode” icon.

  3. Now wait for a minute or two and then disable the “Airplane mode.”

  4. Finally, go back to the app to see if the problem is fixed or not.

Switch to Cellular Data or WI-FI

Your Google Play Store may become completely white if your Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is not working properly due to which the app might be unable to load any data. So, to see if this is the case, try changing your data connection. For example, switch to your mobile data if you are currently connected to your Wi-Fi or switch to your Wi-Fi if you are currently using your mobile data to open the app.

Google Play Store or Google Play services app may stop working due to many reasons, but you can easily solve all the issues and make them responsive again with little patience and these simple tips/tricks. So, do use these tips if your Google Play Store or Google Play services apps have stopped working.
