Evil season 2 is going to release very soon, but this time, it will premiere on Netflix. One year after the premiere of the first season, some news regarding the release date, plot explanation, cast, etc. of the Evil season 2 have been dropped. Continue reading to know every detail available on the comeback of this show.
Release Date
First, let’s start with the release date of season 2. As you know, the global pandemic has ruined a lot of things in the past few months, and the production and shoot of your favorite show are not unaffected either. So, there is no clarity as to when the audience can get to watch the upcoming season. And as per the latest reports, currently, two shows are marked as ‘pending’, and the Evil season 2 is one of them that needs permissions to resume their shoot.
In August, Aasif Mandvi (who acts as Ben Shakir) discussed the upcoming season in an interview and said “It’s not up to me, you’d be surprised to know … There’s a lot of conversations between the networks, unions, and New York state about safety. From what I’ve heard, we’ll start in the next few months. I hope sooner than later.”
If you have never watched Evil, here is what you need to know:
This show has three protagonists, i.e., Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi, who play the role of Kristen – a forensic psychologist, David – a priest in the making, and Ben – a tech expert, respectively. Out of them, Kristen and David come together to investigate demonic possessions and supernatural incidents. Ben also joins their mission and acts as a scientific researcher who can potentially find out the end number of possibilities related to supernatural beings and happenings.
It is a mindful show that explains things that you wouldn’t have known in general. But there is a sense of evilness added to the storyline with the character of Dr. Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson). Dr. Leland is a secret expert who is excellent at the art of manipulation, and he uses this art to talk others into committing evil acts. Later in the show, the audience finds that Leland is a subject to a powerful entity.
Also, Kristen often has nightmares where an evil named George creeps into his dreams and haunts him. As a newbie, you will find Evil as a refreshing series as it features an incredible and uncommon storyline that will teach you, move you, and evoke some fears as well. This show premiered on 26th September last year, and even after a year, it is still one of the most popular shows that will now stream on Netflix.
What Evil Season 2 has to offer?
Up until now, there isn’t any information on the plot of the Evil Season 2, but one can safely say that this season will take the audience out of the season 1 cliffhanger. We are hoping the show will reveal the conspiracy going on in the RSM Fertility. David had his theory about this incident and had figured that Dr. Leland had something to do with it, but the final revelations are yet to be made. The upcoming season might also clarify the vision David had, where Kristen walks towards a demon. By now, you know that a powerful demon has possessed Leland. The origin of this devil and his connection with Leland is unknown, but the next season might drop some news on that.
The cast of Evil Season 2
Currently, there is no information on the guest stars for Evil Season 2. And, we are expecting the entire main leads cast of Evil Season 1 to return. Actor Christine Lahti might return as Sheryl (Kristen’s mother), who is engaged to Dr. Leland. Kurt Fuller, who acts as Kristen’s therapist Dr. Boggs will be making a comeback in the show as well.
If you are looking forward to checking the trailer of the Evil season 2, then you have to wait for a little while longer. Until the shoot and production get a green flag, you can binge-watch season 1. Also, the release date is not available either.
