LinkedIn Rolls Out Redesign; Introduces Stories, Video Chats, and Other New Features

LinkedIn has lately introduced a new look and added features such as stories, video calling, improved search experience, and more. LinkedIn is known as the largest professional platform across the globe. Almost 700 million users use LinkedIn to strengthen their professional network, find the right job, and showcase their skills.

You can access LinkedIn via its mobile application or from a desktop. An optimized LinkedIn profile enables its users to connect with opportunities by showing their skills, education, and experience. LinkedIn comes with basic membership that anyone can access for free to maintain professional connections. If you want to access LinkedIn’s premium features like marketing, recruitment, and sales, then you can buy its premium membership.

The major features of LinkedIn include a chat feature through which you can start conversations with your professional network, a job search feature that will help you in finding a relevant job for you, a notification feature that lets you know when you have been mentioned, added and referred.

Recently LinkedIn has rolled out some new features which will enable its users to have face-to-face interaction via online meeting tools. LinkedIn users can access the face-to-face interaction feature by using Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans, and Zoom directly from messages. Other than that, LinkedIn is rolling out the Stories feature, very similar to Snapchat,

Instagram, and Facebook. Initially, only US and Canadian residents can access this feature. You can also access new illustrations that can help you to access a wide range of jobs and industries.  These new features will allow its users to navigate quickly and have a better user experience. LinkedIn announced the new features via a blog post in which they have mentioned all the new features.

To access the video call feature, you will have to click on the video call option next to the text box. After that, choose the available application for video call and sign in to share a link or schedule a meeting for later.

As per the company’s statement, “LinkedIn’s new search experience will help its users to surface more people, events, and groups while helping them to reach beyond their immediate network.”

You can also expect a dark mode very soon on LinkedIn. With LinkedIn’s new features, you can easily edit messages and correct a mistake. You can delete any attachment or message you sent by mistake. You can also use emojis to express your emotions or when you don’t want to write your thoughts. You can easily react to a story by giving a “thumbs up.” Other than that, you can select multiple conversations to archive, delete, or mark them read/unread at once. You can share the daily happenings of your professional life via stories without worrying about the fact that the story would be permanently attached to their profiles. These LinkedIn stories will only last for 24 hours.

To access LinkedIn’s story feature, you can touch the circle on your profile photo and then click on the plus sign to open the camera. You can either click an image or select the one from your gallery. You can also add stickers and tag others to your story.

The new features released by LinkedIn will be available for users in the coming weeks. These features will be currently limited to a few countries. Still, later, they can be accessed globally.
