MCU: 5 Comic Characters Who Did Better In The Movies

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced several adaptations of the most famous Marvel characters from the last few years. However, some characters have been portrayed in a much better way in the movies than in the comics. As we already know that the MCU has been formed over the years by combining the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Some of the Marvel Comics characters have been adapted in unique and interesting ways to adjust to the most popular shared universe.

Here are the five comic characters who have been elevated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ned Leeds

Jacob Batalon is playing the character of Ned Leeds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he first appeared in the film Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was released in the year 2017. He is the most trustworthy friend of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. He is the first person to whom Peter Parker revealed his original identity. Ned is shown as a confident person in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On the other hand, in the comics, Ned is shown as the Hobgoblin, and later, is murdered by the Foreigner. In this way, the character of Ned did better in the MCU.

Hawkeye

The character of Hawkeye/Clint Barton is played by the famous Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hawkeye goes through a dark period when Thanos erases half the population of the universe, including the family of Clint Barton. However, he overcomes it in a much better way than his comic version’s character. According to Marvel Comics, Hawkeye does not have a family, and he is not the happiest man. However, in the MCU, he has a family that gives him immense happiness. Hawkeye’s character has been shown in a much better way in the movies than in the comics.

Nebula

The famous actress Karen Gillan portrays the character of Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She first appeared in the film Guardians of the Galaxy, which was released in the year 2014. Nebula is the daughter of Thanos and actively works against her adopted sister Gamora. However, Nebula and Gamora reunite later, and Gamora becomes one of the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. On the other hand, Nebula lives a tragic life in the comics that leads her to a dark path. In this way, the arc of Nebula’s character is shown far better in the MCU than in the comic version of the character.

War Machine

James “Rhodey” Rhodes is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from its beginning in the film Iron Man, released in 2008. Rhodey is shown as Tony Stark’s military friend in the MCU. Rhodey adopts his armor of War Machine in the film Iron Man 2, a sequel to the original Iron Man movie. Later, he also becomes one of the key members of the Avengers. In the MCU, War Machine suffers an injury. Tony Stark corrects it partially, whereas, in the comic version of War Machine, his body is entirely replaced by machinery because of a massive injury. So, the movie version of War Machine is much better.

Steve & Peggy

The character of Steve Rogers/Captain America is portrayed by Chris Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film Avengers: Endgame features the end of an era for most of the members of the Avengers. However, the film also features a happy ending for Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. Steve regains his lost love when he travels through time to return the Infinity Stones to the past, but it never happens in the comic. So, Steve and Peggy are much more elevated characters in the MCU than in the comics.

After discussing the five characters, who did better in the movies than in the comics, we have concluded that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has lifted these characters in a much better way than in the comics. The fans of the MCU also appreciated the great arcs of these characters in the movies.
