The shooting of season 5 of the Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) is underway. Recently, the team shared a few sets of photos that reveal surprises. Fans will be seeing one of the favorite characters in Berlin in some sequences.
Money Heist is a Spanish crime drama TV show, also known as La Casa de Papel or The House of Paper. Alex Pina created the show, and she initially intended to make it a limited series with two parts. The show premiered on Spanish network Antena 3 from 2 May 2017 to 23 November 2017. Later in the year, Netflix bought the streaming rights and cut the series into 22 short episodes.
Money Heist received several awards including 46th International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series. The series got wide acceptance from audiences and as well as from critics of its direction, sophisticated plot, and interpersonal dramas.
Season 5 is the end of La Casa de Papel
Alex Pina, the creator of the show, assured that the fourth season was all about war, and the fifth season will be the end of it. The last season will be about the Professor against Alicia Sierra and the team versus the government. Well, death is guaranteed.
Season 4 was not very smooth for Rio either. He fell in love with Tokyo, and the two were enjoying their time until poor Rio made a mistake that led him through hell. The Interpol caught him and held him captive in isolation. He was psychologically tortured for weeks and then released to his heist family member. He was experiencing post-traumatic stress.
A bug implanted in Rio by the enemy. Although Rio broke up with Tokyo and some of the team members also questioned his loyalty to the heist mission after his release.
Will Rio die?
Well, some fans think that Rio will die in season 5. Miguel Herran plays the character of Rio, used to share photos on Instagram and other social media with his La Casa de Papel cast. And one of his Instagram posts which shows the signature on the red jumpsuit as Rio, but the caption reads: “Es Mejor Que morris..creo,” which means “It is better than dying…I think.”
And Herran’s fans speculated from the post that the character would be killed off. And one of his fans wrote that if they would kill the character of Rio, then he would not watch the show. While other fans agreed that they would feel terrible too, the team killed Rio.
Some also asked if the post is a spoiler. Fans commented on lots of crying emojis expressing their sadness about the thought of death in Rio. And some do not jump on the board with theory.
Rio’s Death is Plausible
The character of Nairobi is being shot in the last season and the actress Alba Flores had no idea about the script. In an interview with The Cutaway, Flores shared that the cast members are notified in advance if something happens to their characters, but she did not receive the call about the sniper shot. However, she loved the challenge of it.
Herran also received a similar surprise while reading the script which prompted him to write an Instagram message. The creator, Alex Pina, repeatedly also revealed in an interview, that Herran writes the episodes as the plot moves ahead and the cast has confirmed that.
Herran dropped a hint about the upcoming season, and it may be a reference to something else or someone. La Casa de Papel is facing stakes for this final take and anyone can die, including Rio and also the narrator, Tokyo.
Actively Shooting and a Dead Character is Back
The fate of the Money Heist is known, and the fans who can settle in with the fifth season will genuinely go out with a bang. The heist gang planned to rob the Bank of Spain and the Professor under Sierra’s thumb. The theories and storyline wish for Money Heist’s finale on Netflix.
The show depicts death is inevitable, and the flashbacks of the characters, challenging times, and THE PLAN. And according to the speculations, one character is returning in the last episodes and leave the fans to wonder how the presence of Berlin will help to tie the loose ends in the previous season.
Berlin is Coming Back Too
Berlin is dead, but later he popped up in the fourth season, and some fans wondered that Berlin would return in the next season also. The role of Berlin is playing Pedro Alonso also shared some LCDP snaps on his Instagram post with his co-stars Peros, Patrick Criado, and Diana Gomez (Tatiana). Fans can see Criado as the new character in the upcoming season.
