Move Photos on Facebook to Google Photos and Dropbox

There could be many reasons as to why you want to transfer your photos and videos from Facebook. But if you’re going to, Facebook offers a transfer tool to let you move your media from it to cloud services like Google Photos, Dropbox, and Koofr. The best thing about using this data transfer tool is that you wouldn’t have to download and upload the media one-by-one to storage services. Read this article to learn how to do that all quickly.

Facebook Photos and Videos: Move to Your PC

Step 1: Navigate to the Facebook website on your computer.

Step 2: Now, enter your username and password to log in to your Facebook account.

Step 3: Once you have logged in, click the arrow icon towards the right-hand side, followed by “Settings & privacy.”

Step 4: Scroll down to click “Settings,” followed by “Your Facebook Information.” Find the View button next to the “Transfer a Copy of your Photos or Videos” tab.

Step 5: Now, you will be asked to enter your password. Go ahead, enter the password, after which you will come across the options of various services like Google Photos, Koofr, and Dropbox to transfer your photos and videos. Choose the storage service you wish to move your media to.

Step 6: Next, you will be asked if you want to transfer your videos or photos to cloud storage. Sadly, you can move only one at a single time. That means if you want to move both your photos and videos, you will need to repeat the process. Also, know that Facebook will move all the uploaded media to your cloud storage account without giving you the option to choose a specific photo/video.

Step 7: After selecting the media you wish to transfer, you will be asked to enter credentials to your cloud storage account.

Step 8: Once you have logged into your cloud storage account, select “Allow.” This will enable Facebook to upload media.

Step 9. Go back to Facebook and select “Confirm Transfer” to initiate the transfer procedure.

The transfer process will continue in the background allowing you to access other tabs if you wish to. You can keep visiting the transfer tool’s window to keep an eye on the progress. The transfer progress will be displayed in the “Activity” section. Also, you will receive a notification from Facebook after the entire process is finished.

Facebook Photos and Videos: Move via the Facebook App

In case you want to move your media from Facebook using your mobile phone, all you need is the Facebook app. Here is how to do this:

Step 1. Start by opening the Facebook app on your mobile device.

Step 2. Tap on the hamburger menu located towards the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Scroll down to tap on the Settings option.

Step 4: Then, go to the Settings and Privacy section to tap on “Your Facebook Information Section,” followed by “Transfer a Copy of Your Photos or Videos.”

Step 5. You will be asked to enter your Facebook credentials. Go ahead, type the password, and tap “Continue.”

Step 6. Choose the cloud storage service where you want to move your Facebook media and choose between photos or videos.

Step 7. Enter the credentials to your cloud storage account and allow Facebook to upload the media.

Step 8: Finally, go back to the Facebook app on your mobile device, and hit “Confirm Transfer” to initiate the process.

The process will keep running in the background, and you will be notified once all the photos or videos have been transferred successfully.
