Oktoberfest: Blood and Beer
Oktoberfest: Beer and Blood is a mini-series created by Alexis Wittgenstein, Christian Limmer, and Ronny Schalk. It is a German show that follows a wealthy shady newcomer who arrives in Munich to crash the local fest Oktoberfest with his brewery.
The show was released on 1 October 2020. The cast of the show includes Martina Gedeck, Misel Maticevic, and Klaus Steinbacher. Gedeck is known for her projects like Mostly Martha, The Baader Meinhof Complex, and Lives of Others. She was also featured in Robert De Niro’s 2006 The Good Shepherd. Geedeck won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for the Lives of Others.
With some great casts, the show gives you many twists and turns. And no one can tell that the new German show Oktober: Blood and Beer is the true story that rises behind the seasonal festival. However, it took inspiration from history and transformed the show into a dark period of drama.
The mini-series has plenty of juicy drama to be mined to create the most fantastic beer festival in Germany. Oktober: Blood and Beer is not mainly a horror show, but if the audience is looking for a costume drama that appeals to the spirit without waking you up at night, then Oktoberfest is the best binge watch show, and it contains unique storytelling which is mostly untold.
Emily in Paris
Emily in Paris is a comedy-drama show created by Darren Star and premiered on October 2, 2020, on Netflix. The show revolves around an American woman, Emily, who moves to Paris for a better job opportunity. And then, she struggles in the workplace while experiencing a culture clash and searching for love.
Lily Collins played the protagonist in the show, Emily. Collin is known for her work, the psychological thriller Abduction, and the fantasy movie Mirror Mirror. The series also stars Philippine, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, and Bruno Gouery.
Emily in Paris is exceptionally bingeable, extremely goofy, and a bit steamy. Director Darren Star has created a story about a young, ambitious American woman. The fans of Sex and the City would love the Netflix new series because of its soapy romantic and fashion fuelled fantasy and a career-oriented drama.
Emily in Paris is not a nuanced take on the issues, but the charming cast will keep you engaging, and you even found yourself screaming that in what world Emily is eligible for the job?!
The Haunting of Bly Manor
The Haunting of Bly Manor is a supernatural horror drama television show directed by Mike Flanagan. The series is based on the novel titled The Turn of the Screw, written by author HenryJames in 1998. It is the second installment in The Haunting anthology series, where the first show of the franchise was The Haunting of Hill House.
The show cast Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas, and Carla Gugino are the actors who return from the first show, and some new actors include T’Nia Miller, Amelie Smith, and Rahul Kohli.
The show’s screenplay follows a young governess hired by a man to look after his nephew and niece at the family country house. And she arrives at the Bly estate and begins to experience supernatural activities.
Bly Manor might not give you terrifying nightmares the way Hill House did, but it tells a lovely tale that is haunting and heartbreaking at the same time.
Social Distance
Social Distance is a Netflix anthology show created by Jenji Kohan and Hilary Weisman. The series was cast, conceived, and executed entirely during the quarantine. The show’s plot focuses on the lockdown effect and how couples and friends are forced to cope with the situation.
The show’s creation took place in a very innovative way, and each episode tells a different story. The series depicts the human spirit on the verge of uncertainty and isolation.
Social Distance might embrace screen life and storytelling when half of the world is living online life anyway. And it might become so relatable and provoke too much real-life anxiety. Social Distance is a short episode staged through the computer and laptop screens and takes the audience through the unexpected challenge to navigate the relationship and life during the pandemic.
The show has the potential to embrace the world’s current situation. However, only if you can stare at another Zoom call.
Deaf U
Deaf U is a docu-series on Netflix; it follows a group of students who go to deaf and hard of hearing college, Gallaudet University. The university is located in Washington, DC. Deaf U investigates the romances, friendships, and wild nights of the students and provides a rare glimpse into the intimate details of deaf culture. It is an educational series that will get you hooked with its hot goss and juicy hookups, and the audience will also learn in the process.
You can choose your preferred series from the list. I hope this article was informative for you.
