New WhatsApp features: These are the updates that have been rolled out on the app

Nowadays, WhatsApp has become one of the best instant messaging applications across the globe. Every new day we hear about a new WhatsApp feature – either being tested by the company or rolled out. Users need to understand that this roll-out takes place in a phase-wise manner before the feature is available for all users. All the users may not be able to use a feature that is available in the beta version of the app.

Here are some of the features and updates that have been rolled out on WhatsApp.

Animated Stickers

Animated stickers play a vital role in expressing your emotions while chatting with someone on an instant messaging platform. It is one of the most widely used features that almost everyone uses while communicating with each other on WhatsApp. A new pack of animated stickers has been introduced by WhatsApp as a more fun and expressive way to communicate.

QR Codes

WhatsApp has recently added QR codes as a new feature to it. This feature has made the task of adding a new contact more straightforward than ever. Now, when you meet someone new, you just need to scan their QR code to add them to your contact list. There is no need to add someone’s contact number by tapping in their digits anymore.

Group Video Calls

Group video calls have become very important these days and WhatsApp has improved a lot in this area. With this new feature, you can attend meetings, chit chat with your friends at one time, etc. Now, you can video call up to 8 persons at once. One of the best improvements in this area is that you can now focus on one person by letting the user press and hold to maximize the video of a participant to full screen. It also allows you to start a group video call with just one tap in a group chat of 8 or fewer persons.

Two-Step Verification

Two-step verification is another optional feature that has been recently introduced by WhatsApp. It plays a very important role in providing extra security to your account. To access this feature, you need to set up a six-digit PIN, and it will provide extra security to your account in addition to your phone number.

Dark Mode

The dark mode is a great feature that has already been rolled out on WhatsApp. It is one of the most popular features that give your eyes a short period of relief. It also gives a new WhatsApp look to your phone. WhatsApp has recently also extended this feature to your computer/desktop.

Format Your Messages

This feature has already been rolled out on WhatsApp, and you must have noticed some excellently formatted WhatsApp messages before. Although it is not a new feature, if you still want to know how to insert that into your daily messaging, WhatsApp allows you to bold, italicize, and monospace the text from within the app.

Group Permissions

Group permissions are another recently introduced feature by WhatsApp. If you are not interested in being a part of a group chat, you can opt into an invite system that gives you more control over the group messages. If you have opted for this feature, you will receive a link, which gives basic information about the group you have been invited to, and you can choose to join if you want to. The link will expire in 72 hours automatically. To access this new setting, you need to select the Settings menu, then select Privacy, and then Groups. It will give you three options, Nobody, Everyone, or My Contacts. You can choose any of the options according to your preference.

After discussing some of the best new features that have been rolled out on WhatsApp, we have concluded that these features will give you more interesting experience while communicating with each other. According to us, Dark mode, Animated stickers, and Group video calls are the most admirable features that have been recently rolled out on WhatsApp.
