Reviewing Lenovo Yoga 7i: Rich Features and Excellent Performance

Lenovo is one of the masters that has captured the computing world and its users to a great extent. It is because it has a wide range of products. The rich features allow Lenovo users to create, develop, and design new things. One can check Lenovo’s outreach from the volume of computing units and servers it sells in a year. Lenovo indeed has a significant presence in the server market too. Recently, Lenovo launched its Lenovo Yoga 7i. In this article, let’s explore and review the new Lenovo Yoga 7i.

Body

Lenovo Yoga 7i has a dimension of 14.03 x 9.27 x (0.7-0.75) inches. So, it makes the laptop thicker than the Dell XPS 13 and Asus Zenbook Flip S. It weighs 4.19 pounds (1.9 kg). Hence, it weighs more than the laptops that have come recently in the market (Dell and Asus). The material used in Lenovo is an aluminum shell. It is available in two color variants – brownish gray and dark green (precisely dark moss color with more tinted yellowishness). The dark green color is unique and may intrigue some of the users for sure. It has a 14 inches (1920 x 1080) IPS screen display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a touchscreen of 300 nits. The screen refresh rate of the new Lenovo laptop is 60Hz.

Processor

Lenovo Yoga 7i uses an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor. The clock frequency of the core processor is 2.8 GHz. It integrates four Willow Cove processor cores that have eight threads due to hyperthreading. After the i7-1185G7, i7-1165G7 is the second fastest model of the line-up. The new Lenovo model comes up with Intel Iris Xe GPU. Hence, one can expect an incredible speed in the animation and graphics processing. The laptop will serve high-range graphics users who use Adobe or other platforms for video or image rendering.

Memory

The storage capacity in the new Lenovo Yoga 7i is 512 GB. It uses PCIe NVMe memory that has 12GB LPDDR4 RAM. Hence, it doubles the data transfer rate (i.e., up to 3200 Mbps) and optimizes the power consumption. LPDDR4 has a two-channel die with 16 bits per channel for 32 bits total. As a result, these channels lower the core’s power due to shorter data paths. So, it improves the operational speed of the laptop. Because of the RAM, Lenovo Yoga 7i offers a bandwidth target of 17GB/s for each die.

Audio & Ports

Lenovo Yoga 7i has two 2W user-facing Dolby Atmos Speaker Systems. So, it provides clear and loud sound effects. It also comes up with one 3.5mm Combo microphone /headphone jack port for the audio or the audio embedded in video files. Apart from this, the new Lenovo laptop has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C (Power, DP 1.4, Data, Always on) ports.

Other Features

  • Connectivity: Intel Wi-Fi 6 802.11 AX and Bluetooth 5.0

  • OS: Windows 10 Home

  • Battery: 71Wh

  • Keyboard: 6-row also having multimedia Fn keys, LED backlight with a precision touchpad

At the bottom of the keyboard, one can find a fingerprint sensor. This sensor is the only biometric authentication method on the laptop. So, Lenovo Yoga 7i lacks the IR camera that could have enhanced the laptop’s security login.

Conclusion

One can buy the new Lenovo laptop from its website or Amazon. Due to color variants, the price may vary. For the students and teachers, the laptop is much cheaper, as they can save up to 5%. There are few things like an IR camera, cellular connectivity, etc., absent from the laptop. But the benefits of the new laptop may somewhere cover its cons.
